Child Development is a fast-paced class which begins with the decision to become a parent and covers all aspects of child development until age twelve. Emphasis is on helping student create an environment for children that will promote optimum development. Whether the student plans to be a parent or to spend their professional days as a child psychologist, a teacher or a day care provider, this course provides a background for skills and knowledge.
This class is Tech Prep Articulated with Austin Community College. Students will need to make an 85 or better for the entire year to earn credit. They will also need to sign up in the CATEMA System.
Be aware as part of the curriculum for this course you will be watching footage of live births and breastfeeding.
Assignments can be found under the Child Development Tab at the top based on date. Journals can be found under the Child Development Tab labeled Journals.
We also use Google Classroom. Make sure you are signed up for the Google Classroom as some assignments and PowerPoint's will only be listed there.
